route map (click the map to view full screen)
Among woods and vineyards, pleasant circuit (Photos and encouragement: François)
the banks of the Charente, near the refueling Bourg Charente, 9 km
second part of the journey, rather in the vineyard (here around the 12th km )
In the coast of La Maurie, N ° 51 is running a little long ...
False sprint to the finish with Jean-Marc, it is common courtesy to cross the line!

temperature cool enough this morning, the sun had planned to arrive that afternoon. But this trail of Cognac, the conditions were good. Starting at 9: 30 pm at the edge of the Charente, flat for 1 km, then a good climb where it jammed a little. The first part of the trail, left bank is mostly in wood, with incredible slalom between trees, it rotates in all directions, with from time to time, a beautiful coastline, a good run ... You can find a bit of bitumen in Bourg-Charente, in mid-race where the only supply.
Crossing the bridge, back right bank starting with the tower of the castle, still a nice bump to swallow, then 2 or 3 km between the vineyards, and roads on earth, soft but not sticky to the soles. After the coast of La Maurie, around the 13th km, it connects two descents on steep and slippery trails in wood, with a rib breaker between the 2 legs, then a long false flat amount. I share these last miles with Jean-Marc Pons of former rugby player converted to the running, runners chatter between two breaths ... On arrival after reciprocal compliments, he refuses to cross the line before me, the nice guy!
We are 66th and 67th, at about half of the ladder, 1 h 34'26 for 17.3 km and 280 m in elevation and + -
